S&C understands that the greatest strength of our Firm is our people. We believe that providing our clients with the highest level of service depends on looking at issues from every angle. Fostering that range of perspectives means valuing our lawyers’ unique abilities and diversity in the broadest sense, including race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability and religious affiliation.
Our longstanding Diversity Committee is charged with creating a culture of inclusion. The Committee is made up of leaders in the Firm, and is co-chaired by a member of the Firm’s Management Committee and the Deputy Managing Partner of the Litigation Group, reflecting the depths of the Firm’s commitment to these ideals. Our multi-faceted approach encompasses our recruiting and retention efforts, substantive and social internal programming, outreach through our pipeline programs, diversity education and training, and commitment to the larger legal community through support and sponsorship of various diversity-related organizations. The Diversity Committee works closely with the Recruiting, Professional Development and Legal Personnel Departments to monitor the effectiveness of these activities.
